In injection mold design, undercuts on the inside of a product (such as snaps, ribs, or grooves) have always been a challenge for ejection. The lifter is the key mechanism that solves this problem.
Simply put, a lifter is an angled moving component installed on the moving half of the mold. During the ejection process, it moves both forward and sideways at the same time, disengaging from the undercut area and allowing the product to be smoothly ejected.

Unlike a slide, which is mounted on the outside of the mold, the lifter has a more compact design, takes up less space, and is primarily used for forming internal undercuts — at a relatively lower cost.
When designing a lifter, the angle is typically controlled between 5° and 15°. A larger angle provides greater sideways travel, but also increases ejection resistance. For materials, wear-resistant steels such as SKD61 or H13 are commonly used, with nitriding treatment to ensure service life.
